Montessori Certified Primary Lead Teacher

Job Description

Little Wonders Montessori is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic Lead Teacher to join our team for the 2024 – 2025 school year. The ideal candidate will be committed to the authentic implementation of the Montessori philosophy, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be a caring, consistent presence for the children. Must be able to work 8:00 – 4:00.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a developmentally appropriate morning work period for young children, giving lessons as appropriate
  • Follow Montessori philosophy as interpreted by the faculty and Head of School
  • Assist in the creation of a culturally responsive environment, sensitive to the needs of every child and family
  • Address and advocate for the needs of every student in the classroom, and adjust curriculum if necessary to accommodate the needs of the children
  • Maintain and create materials that are developmentally appropriate for a Primary age group and which are appropriate for a Montessori environment
  • Participate in all Team Collaboration Days / Trainings
  • Provide high-quality engagement and active supervision, while simultaneously observing and allowing the child to develop concentration
  • Communicate individual children’s curriculum trajectories with families, utilizing email, parent engagement software, conferences, face-to-face conversations, and phone calls as appropriate

Administrative Assistant/Classroom floater

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to join our admin team. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Director and teachers and other executives, including answering phones, scheduling tours, preparing and distributing classrooms supplies and forms, filing, and other administrative duties. This position will work closely with our classrooms to provide them with support including giving breaks, supporting a classrooms in the absence of a teacher, and providing support to families regarding their children.

Qualities

Our requirements for this position are:

  • Answer phone calls, take messages and provide information to current and prospective families along with ongoing communication via email.
  • Organize student and employee files and keep them up-to-date in accordance to DFPS requirements.
  • Support Director with clerical tasks such as printing, copying, organizing rooms, etc.
  • Responsible for app-based checking in/out of students, daily updates with pictures, and messaging system.
  • Support drop off and pick up of children.
  • Periodically run errands, as needed, for supply purchases and order pick ups.

Teacher Support:

  • Support staff with breaks and float into classrooms as needed for substitution.
  • Staff scheduling.
  • Support teachers with school day tasks, providing supplies, making copies, etc.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.
  • Previous administrative and classroom experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with parents and colleagues both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail required; ability to multi-task required.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks; ability to manage time well in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
